We Are an Open House

Part of the Spring Glen Church's mission to serve the community includes welcoming various groups to meet here. The schedule is:

Alcoholics Anonymous meets in the Great Hall on the 2nd floor of the Parish House.
Saturday – 4 to 5 p.m.
Sunday – 5 to 6 p.m.
Monday – 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Al-Anon meets in the basement in a small chapel.
Monday - 8 p.m. (For people hurt by someone else's drinking.)

Narcotics Anonymous meets in the basement.
Wednesday - 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

In addition to the 12-step groups, we welcome the Spring Glen Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Singles Bridge Club, Contract Bridge Club, and Silk ’n’ Sounds (a women's a cappella chorus) that raises money for research on autism. For the last 75 years, Scouts have met here, and today we continue to sponsor Boy Scout Pack 608 and several of its Cub Scout Dens.

The Spring Glen Church is fully accessible.

There is a ramp from the parking lot to the main door and an elevator in the entry to reach all floors of the building. Visitors may also use the church's wheelchairs.  Our sanctuary has a system to provide hearing assistance, and we provide large-type Orders of Worship and music for those needing visual assistance (please see the church office or ushers).  We have family-friendly gender-neutral bathrooms on all floors that are also fully accessible for wheelchairs and walkers.

Benevolence Committee

The Benevolence Committee oversees budget of $50,000+ in benevolence pledges. It also coordinates "Blanket Sunday," "Tools of Hope," the Christmas Offering for designated agencies, and an Easter Offering for the UCC's "One Great Hour of Sharing." 

Christian Action Committee

Supports the following projects:

• Christian Community Action: material goods and funds for families in emergency and transitional housing in New Haven.
• Covenant to Care: material goods (cribs, car seats, household items) and grocery/clothing gift certificates to clients served by the State Department of Children and Families. Those in need also receive Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas gifts, Easter baskets and backpacks and supplies for school.
