For over 35 years Spring Glen Church and Temple Beth Sholom have been working together to sponsor a blood drive- one at SGC in Feb. and then at TBS in June. It has been an important, continuous joint effort for our congregations.
Calls for blood donations to meet an emergency need keep coming in. Due to seasonal illness (flu, viruses, colds) and inclement weather causing the cancellation of drives, the supply of blood is dangerously low; a condition that can require postponement of planned surgery, be hazardous to patients chronically dependant on blood products and literally cost lives. Oh dear! Would you please help? If you are 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in relatively good health you might be able to donate. Visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1- 800-733- 2767 (1-800-REDCROSS ) Then make an appointment. Then on the day of your appointment fill out the RapidPass on line and avoid some of the waiting time. Save A Life!
Volunteers are also needed to make the drive run smoothly. Be on the look out for volunteer sign up sheets. They will be in the entry in January.
